In questo tutorial vedremo come preparare una gabbia per le vostre scenette cosplay di Clover ( o quello che volete) nel minor tempo possibile e spendendo poco. Questa gabbia è smontabile e rimontabile quante volte volete, ed è leggerissima! L'idea iniziale era quella di fare una gabbia intera, ma dato che avrei avuto alcuni problemi con le ali e il vestito ho deciso di fare solo metà gabbia.

In this tutorial we'll see how to make a cage for your cosplay of Clover (or whatever you want) in the shortest possible time and budget. This cage is disassembled and reassembled many times as you like, and is so light! The initial idea was to make a full cage, but I had some problems with the wings and the dress, so I decided to do only half cage.

Nelle immagini qui sopra troverete un metodo veloce, preciso e facilissimo per fare i vostri semicerchi o cerchi. Non mi soffermo a spiegarlo dato che penso sia abbastanza chiaro, se avete dei dubbi mandatemi una mail dalla sezione about ( in fondo).
Ho scelto 60 sm di diametro considerando la mia corporatura, le mie ali e il vestito. Voi regolatevi di conseguenza. Ora tagliamo le nostre 3 basi ( io non ho fatto quella grossa, la più inferiore, se voi volete farla vi basta usare un'altro foglio di polistirolo aumentando le misure di 5/10 cm); dovremmo avere 2 semicerchi di polistirolo e uno di materassina ( io non avendo abbastanza polistirolo ho usato due fogli di materassina incollati tra loro). Con il nastro adesivo di carta copriamo i bordi in modo che non si vedano eventuali scalfiture e che risulti tutto bello liscio. |

I chose 60 cm of diameter considering my body, wings and dress. You regulator accordingly. Now we cut our 3 bases (I didn,t the big one, the lower,if you want it you just use another sheet of polystyrene increasing measures with 5 / 10 cm); we have 2 half-rings of polystyrene and a mat (I do not have enough polystyrene so I used two sheets of mat glued together). With paper masking tape, we cover the edges so you can't see any scratches and everything is looking smooth. |

Ora seghiamo i bastoni in modo che abbiano la nostra altezza ( o anche più alti se volete, dipende da voi). Poi usando un bastone e un pennarello decidete la posizione delle sbarre della vostra gabbia e segnatele. NON fatele troppo vicine al bordo: il polistirolo potrebbe spaccarsi!!
Adesso con un oggetto appuntito e rotondo ( io ho usato un cacciavite ma va bene di tutto) allargate i buchi piano piano nelle due basi di polistirolo. Non c'è bisogno di bucare la materassina: in corrispondenza del buco fate un taglio a forma di X non troppo grande. Così i bastoni si incastreranno perfettamente dentro i vari strati della base senza usare la colla. Ricordate che il bastone non deve stare troppo largo nel buco o continuerà a cadere. Fateli quindi stretti quanto basta. Ora incolliamo i livelli della base. Non importa se i bastoni sembreranno storti una volta che li infilerete dentro. Per farli stare dritti bisogna preparare la parte superiore. | 
Now saw the sticks so they have our height (or even higher if you like, depends on you). Then using a stick and a pen decide the position of the bars of the cage and mark it. DON'T do it too close to the edge: the polystyrene could burst!
Now with a sharp object (I used a screwdriver but everything is fine) gradually widened the holes in the two bases of polystyrene. No need to puncture the mat: you cut in the shape of X, not too large. So the sticks fit perfectly inside the layers of the base without using glue. Remember that the stick must not be too wide into the hole or it'll fall. Now glue the layers of the base. No matter if the sticks seem bent once you put them inside. To make them stand upright you need to prepare the top. |

Dopo aver unito la base ho ricoperto tutto di nastro adesivo di carta, ho preparato i bulloni con della pasta modellabile e li ho attaccati con della colla. Per sapere come preparare i bulloni andate qui.
Io ho ricoperto tutto di nastro adesivo di carta per un motivo ben preciso: la vernice acrilica spray corrode il polistirolo! Quindi se non volete che il vostro lavoro si rovini vi conviene ricoprirlo per bene ( potete usare anche la carta pesta). | 
After combining the base I covered all of paper masking tape, I made the bolts of modeling clay and I've stuck them with glue. To know how to prepare the bolts go here.
I have covered all of paper masking tape for a reason: acrylic paint spray corrodes the polystyrene! So if you don't want to ruin your work you should cover it well (you can also use paper pulp). |

Ora cominciamo la parte superiore. Tagliamo un pezzo di filo di ferro per ogni bastone della misura che preferiamo e avvolgiamoli con della colla intono ad un foglio di giornale. Dopo chiudiamo il nostro "involtino" con altra colla. Attacchiamo con dello scotch il filo e i giornali ai bastoni.
Ora inseriamo i bastoni nei loro buchi e uniamo i fili dei bastoni più esterni facendo in modo che i bastoni stiano belli dritti. Ripetiamo l'operazione anche con gli altri, assicurandoli tutti tra loro con del nastro adesivo di carta. | 
Now we start the top. Cut a piece of wire measure you prefer and stick it with glue and a sheet of paper. After close our "bundle" with other glue. Attach the wire with scotch to the sticks.
Now insert the sticks in their holes and join the wires of the outer poles so the sticks are beautiful straight. Repeat the operation with others, assuring them all together with the masking tape. |

Ora facciamo l'anello della gabbia ed abbiamo finito!
Col polistirolo prepariamo un piccolo semicerchio e col taglierino sistemiamolo a dovere: avvolgetelo nel nastro adesivo. Poi avvolgiamo un pezzo di fil di ferro con del giornale lasciando libere le estremità. Intrecciate le estremità con una pinza e infilziamo il fil di ferro nel polistirolo. Io ho preparato anche un piccolo pezzettino di polistirolo per rendere più bellino l'effetto. Ecco qui! Ora non ci resta che assemblare la gabbia. Attaccate l'anello della gabbietta con del nastro adesivo sopra la gabbia. | 
Now do the ring of the cage and we're done!
Prepare a small semicircle of polystyrene and with the cutter remouve all excessl: wrap it in paper tape. Then wrap a piece of wire with the newspaper, leaving the ends free. Braided ends with pliers and stuck the wire in polystyrene. I have prepared a small piece to make the effect prettier. Here we are! Now we have to assemble the cage. Attach the ring with tape over the cage. |
Ora smontiamo la gabbia e dipingiamo i vari pezzi. Eeeeeeee finita!!!
Per trasportarla: io ho messo la base in una grande borsa ( è leggerrissima). Poi ho unito i pali in un fascio ( non importa se la parte col fil di ferro si piegherà, lo potere aggiustare subito appena rimontate la gabbia, quante volte volete) e li ho legati con dei nastrini. Ho poi coperto l'anello, e il fil di ferro con un sacchetto di plastica. Appena arrivata in fiera ho rimontato tutto! Per altre immagini della gabbia completa andate qui. | 
Now remove the cage and paint the pieces. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand finished!!!
To carry it: I put the base in a big bag (it's very light). Then I joined the stakes in a bundle (no matter if the part with the wire will bend, adjust it when you just reinstalled the cage, how many times you want) and I have tied them with ribbons. I then covered the ring, and the wire with a plastic bag. Just arrived at the fair I reinstalled everything! For other pics go here. |
