Questo scettro è meno difficile di quanto sembri. Io ho impiegato solo 3 giorni a farlo, poi ovviamente ci sono altri metodi, sicuramente migliori ma che richiedono più tempo. Io intanto ho fatto così:
Prima di tutto ho preparato un modello di carta del "corpo" dello scettro per controllare che le dimensioni fossero giuste. Quando sono stata soddisfatta, ho appoggiato un foglio di carta sulla precisa metà del cerchio e ho cominciato a disegnare le strane "piume" . Anche lì, quando sono riuscita a farle della dimensione e della forma giusta, ho tagliato le piume, le ho numerate ( così si evita di fare casino nel posizionarle ;) e le ho appoggiate sul cartoncino spesso per due volte, ricavato tutti i pezzi per tutte e due le ali. Le piume le potete fare anche con il legno, ma io che non avevo un seghetto decente ho dovuto optare per il cartoncino. | 
This scepter is less difficult than it looks.
I only took 3 days to do it ; obviously there are other methods, certainly better but require more time. Meanwhile I've done this: First of all I prepared a paper model of the "body" of the scepter to control the dimensions were correct. When I was satisfied, I placed a sheet of paper on the exact middle of the circle and began to draw the strange "feathers". Then , when I could make them the right shape and dimension I cut the feathers, I numbered them (so you avoid making trouble in placing ;) and I put them on the cardboard twice, producing all pieces for the two wings. The feathers can do with wood, but I didn't have a decent hacksaw and I had to opt for the cardboard. |

.Ora dobbiamo tagliare dal legno il corpo dello scettro. Ci sono diversi modi per tagliare il conpensato. Visto che a forma è rotonda sarebbe meglio un cutter, ma io non avevo uno di quelli capaci di tagliare il legno, così ho dovuto segarlo a mano piano piano. Se anche voi usate un seghetto manuale fate molta attenzione: il compensato tende a scheggiarsi. Se non vi volete fare male, usate dei guanti per reggere la lastra di compensato mentre la segate e mentre la scartavetrate ( guanti adatti ai lavori manuali, io uso quelli della Goodyear).
Segare il cerchio in mezzo è più dura. Io consiglio due metodi: 1. fate dei buchi col trapano (punta fine) molto vicini lungo tutto il contorno del cerchio interno, il legno in più si staccherà da solo, ma dovrete scartavetrare moltissimo i bordi per renderli lisci. 2. Con un taglierino affondate la lama lungo tutto il contorno del cerchio interno, quanto basta affinchè dall'altra parte spunti, anche di poco, la lama. Ripetete l'operazione due o tre volte, poi basterà un colpettino e il cerchio in più salterà via! Una volta che avete il corpo dello scettro completo, scartavetrare bene i bordi con la carta vetrata a grana 80 ( minore è il numero della grana più grossolana sarà la cartavetrata, l'80 è una buona via di mezzo, nè troppo fine, nè troppo grossa). Fate attenzione però, la cartavetrata produrrà una polverina poco salutare, meglio se indossate la mascherina in questa operazione! Ora bisogna fare le scanalature. Vedete quei contorni grigi nella figura a sinistra? E' semplicissimo cartoncino. Potete anche usare del legno compensato più sottile (3 mm) ma dovete tagliarlo perfettamente XD Incollate il cartoncino con della semplice colla ( io l'ho incollato anche dietro per nascondere le scheggiature). Ora rimane fa fare quella strana asta ricurva sotto lo scettro. Facciamo il nostro bel cartamodello di carta e riportiamolo sul legno. Fate molta attenzione, dato è molto sottile se mettete troppa forza rischia di spezzarvisi in mano ( come è successo a me... 3 volte!!). Una volta finito usiamo la nostra cartavetrata. Ora che abbiamo tutti i pezzi, non ci resta che assemblarli. Prendiamo il nostro bastone e dopo averlo tagliato dell'altezza giusta vi posizioniamo il cerchio e lo inchiodiamo con qualche chiodo ( io ho usato chiodi piccoli, con una testa molto piccina per evitare che scheggiassero il legno o lo spaccassero), e l'asta ricurva. Prima di inchiodarli, aiutiamoci con un pò di colla magari se vogliamo essere sicuri che non si stacchino per nessuna ragione. Ora dipingiamo! Va bene sia lo spray che la vernice normale! Attacchiamo con la colla le piume dopo averle dipinte separatamente da entrambi i lati e quando saranno fissate bene, spennellate tutto di colla vinilica. Il vostro bastone è pronto! Now we have to cut wood for the body of the scepter. There are several ways to cut plywood. Seen the shape is round it would be better a cutter, but I had not one of those able to cut the wood, so I had to saw by hand slowly. If you also use a manual hacksaw be careful: plywood tends to splinter . If you do not want to hurt, use gloves to hold the sheet of plywood while you saw or while you use the sandpaper (gloves for manual work, I use those of Goodyear).
Saw the circle in the middle is harder. I recommend two methods: 1. do with drill holes (fine) very close along the contour of the inner circle, the enough wood detach itself, but you have to sanding very much the edges to make them smooth. 2. With a cutter sunk the blade along the contour of the inner circle, you have to see the blade come out from the wood in the other side of circle. Repeat two or three times, then just one more blow and the circle will jump away! Once you have the body of the scepter complete, sanding the edges with sandpaper 80 ( lower is the number of the sandpaper, coarser the grain is, 80 is a good middle ground, neither too thin nor too large). Be careful though, the sandpaper will produce a powder unhealthy, better wear the mask in this operation! Now we need to make the grooves. See those gray contours in the figure on the left? It 's cardboard. You can also use plywood thinner (3 mm) but you have to cut it perfectly XD Stick the cardboard with glue (I have also pasted it behind to hide the chipping). Now it remains to do this strange curved rod under the scepter. Let our beautiful pattern with paper and put it on the wood. Pay close attention, it's very thin and if you put too much force it can broke itself in two pieces in your hand (as it happened to me ... 3 times!). Once finished we use our sandpaper. Now that we have all the pieces, we have to assemble them. Take our stick and naile the circle to it with a few nails in the middle (I used small nails, with a tiny head to avoid splintering), and the curved rod . Before you nail them, let us help with some glue. Now paint! Normal paint or spray it's the same! Attach with glue the feathers after they have been painted on both sides separately, and when they are well secured, all brush of glue. Your scepter is ready! Below is the image of mine!
